A small studio, deliberately.
RHIVE builds websites for Australian businesses that have outgrown a template, and occasionally the apps that come after them.
We started it because of a pattern we kept running into. Businesses pay agency rates, the work quietly gets handed down to whoever is free that week, and then it takes three weeks to get a phone number changed on a page. None of that work is difficult. The part that goes missing when a studio gets big is someone caring how it turns out.
So we stay small on purpose: fewer clients at a time, everyone on your project in the same conversation, and a finished site you can run yourself.
A hive is a lot of small, precise cells that only work because they fit together.
That's where the name came from, and it's roughly how we build. Structure first, every piece doing one job, and nothing decorative holding weight it can't carry.
What we hold to
We tell you early when something won't work
If you don't need an app, or the budget won't cover what you've described, you hear it in the first call rather than halfway through the invoices.
We build for slow connections
A site that takes five seconds to load on a phone in regional Australia has already lost the customer. We test against the worst connection, not the office wi-fi.
We write quotes in plain English
If you can't explain to your business partner what you're paying for, we've written it badly and we'll rewrite it.
We finish things
Launched, handed over, documented and actually done. Not done pending the content.
Who you'll be working with
A small founding team based in Australia who between us handle design, build and everything after launch. When we bring in a specialist for something, you'll know who they are and what they're doing.
We'd rather show you the work than a page of headshots. Send us what you're trying to build and you'll get an honest answer about whether we're the right studio for it.
